Every property is different. Here's how we approach pricing and what factors into your estimate.
Forestry Mulching
$2,250 / dayDaily minimum, light vegetation and density
- Covers trees roughly six inches in diameter and under
- Typically three-quarters of an acre to an acre per day
- Heavier or denser growth changes pace and price
- No burn piles, no hauling, no debris left to deal with
Dozer Work
Per hour / per dayPriced by the hour or by the day
- Grading, leveling, and general shaping
- Laser grade control on the dozer
- Terrain, finished grade, and how long the work takes drive the number
- Often combined with clearing already underway
Driveways & Excavation
Quoted on sitePriced after an in-person look
- Length, width, and existing condition for driveways
- Volume, access, soil, and haul distance for excavation
- Grade, crown and shaping scoped with the job
- You get the scope and the number after the visit
Clearing & Burning
Per acrePriced by the acre, by density and amount
- Density of growth and the amount of material drive the number
- Clearing where the material is piled and burned rather than mulched
- Forestry mulching is the alternative where you would rather not burn
- Walked and scoped before the number is set
What moves the number
Tree size and vegetation density are the two biggest ones, and they are the reason an acre is not a useful unit of pricing on its own. After that: acreage, terrain and slope, how wet the ground is, access for getting equipment in and out, how far material has to travel, what the finished ground needs to look like, and anything hidden in the work such as old fence wire, stumps, rock, or buried lines. Two properties that look the same from the road can be very different jobs once somebody has walked them.
How the estimate works
We do not quote land over the phone. One of us comes out, walks the property with you, and puts the estimate together afterward rather than guessing at a number on the spot. You get a scope describing the work area and the finished result along with the price. If we get into the job and conditions turn out to be different from what we could see, you hear that from us before anything changes.
